WHAT THE HECK IS THE MOUNTAIN INFORMATION NETWORK (MIN) and Why a North Rockies Rider should care

If you ride the North Rockies, you are maybe aware that a formal avalanche bulletin does not exist for the region. You might be surprised to know however that the Summit Avalanche Consulting team has been providing trip and snowpack reports for 8 snowmobiling areas in the North Eastern region of British Columbia. These 8 areas fall into the North Rockies Avalanche Zone. These reports are conducted at a minimum of 8 times per month and include the following snowmobile areas.

You can expect reports to be posted at Avalanche.ca all winter (2017-2018) :

Tumbler Ridge, BC (Core Lodge, Bullmoose and Wolverine)

Chetwynd, BC (Upper Burnt, Hasler and Silversands)

Mackenzie, BC (Pine Pass and Morfee Mountain)

In an attempt to reach as large an audience as possible, we will also continue to post our MIN reports on Avalanche.ca, at Summit Avalanche Consulting FACEBOOK as well as here on our BLOG. Please take a minute to check them out and also contribute your riding observations to Avalanche.ca !
